Job Description
The Production Chemist will be involved in day-to-day manufacturing operations, handling chemical processes, and ensuring adherence to cGMP guidelines. This requires strong technical knowledge, process understanding, and the ability to work in a regulated production environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Execute pharmaceutical manufacturing processes as per approved procedures and batch records.
- Handle production of formulations, intermediates, or API as per requirement.
- Ensure adherence to cGMP, safety, and regulatory standards in production areas.
- Operate and monitor production equipment and processes efficiently.
- Maintain batch manufacturing records (BMR) and production documentation accurately.
- Monitor process parameters and ensure consistency in product quality.
- Coordinate with QA and QC teams for in-process checks and approvals.
- Identify and troubleshoot process deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper utilization of raw materials, equipment, and manpower.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and good housekeeping in production areas.
- Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate PPE during operations.
- Participate in validation, calibration, and qualification activities.
- Ensure timely completion of production batches as per schedule.
- Maintain logs and records for equipment usage and maintenance.
- Assist in technology transfer from R&D to production.
- Monitor and minimize wastage to improve efficiency.
- Support audits and ensure audit readiness for regulatory inspections.
- Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams for equipment upkeep.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of raw materials and finished goods.
- Stay updated with pharmaceutical manufacturing practices and advancements.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams for smooth operations.
- Maintain discipline, professionalism, and accountability in the workplace.
- Contribute to achieving production targets and organizational goals.
