Officer - Production

The Officer – Production will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring manufacturing activities while ensuring strict adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. The involves supervision of shop-floor operations, documentation control, manpower management, and coordination with cross-functional teams to achieve production targets efficiently.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and execute day-to-day production planning in alignment with monthly production schedules and business requirements.
• Supervise manufacturing and packing operations to ensure they are carried out strictly as per approved Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and data integrity requirements at all times.
• Verify proper status labeling of materials, equipment, and production areas during all stages of manufacturing.
• Review BMR entries for raw material consumption, yield reconciliation, and process parameters to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Perform and monitor in-process checks as per BMR to maintain product quality standards.
• Coordinate with the warehouse for issuance of additional raw and packing materials as required.
• Ensure calibration of equipment such as weighing balances and instruments as per schedule and maintain proper records.
• Verify that all equipment and instruments are cleaned, maintained, and operated according to approved SOPs.
• Monitor preventive maintenance activities and coordinate with the engineering team to ensure equipment reliability.
• Maintain accurate and real-time documentation in SAP S/4 HANA and other systems as per SOP requirements.
• Prepare daily production reports and track plant performance indicators for management review.
• Manage shop-floor manpower including allocation of tasks, supervision, and performance monitoring.
• Ensure proper training and development of operators, technicians, and apprentices; maintain updated training records.
• Maintain discipline, good housekeeping practices, and cleanliness across the production department.
• Handle workmen grievances, resolve issues promptly, and escalate to higher management when required.
• Ensure availability and maintenance of safety equipment such as first aid kits and enforce safety practices across the department.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to cost saving, yield improvement, and productivity enhancement.
• Control movement of men and materials as per defined process flow to avoid mix-ups and cross-contamination.
• Participate actively in Quality Management System (QMS) activities including Change Control, Deviations, OOS, OOT, CAPA, incidents, complaints, and risk management.
• Support internal and external audits by ensuring audit readiness and providing required documentation and clarifications.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, legal, and environmental health & safety (EHS) requirements.
• Monitor adherence to data integrity principles (ALCOA+) in all documentation and operations.
• Contribute to equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and Computer System Validation (CSV) activities.
• Ensure completion of all required SOP, module, and quality-related trainings before initiating GMP activities.
• Act as a backup for Production Executive in their absence and take ownership of production activities.
• Collaborate with QA, QC, Engineering, and other departments to ensure smooth and compliant operations.
• Continuously monitor plant performance and recommend improvements for operational excellence.
