Engineering - Sterile PM - Jr. Officer

The Engineering – Sterile PM Jr. Officer will be responsible for maintaining and servicing critical sterile production equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations and strict compliance with GMP and aseptic requirements. This involves hands-on maintenance, adherence to cleanroom protocols, and coordination with cross-functional teams to maintain equipment reliability and product quality.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Execute preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and attend breakdown maintenance for sterile equipment such as vial filling machines, lyophilizers (freeze dryers), autoclaves, and aseptic processing units.
• Perform troubleshooting and quick resolution of equipment failures to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
• Inspect, replace, and maintain mechanical seals, O-rings, gaskets, and critical components to ensure vacuum integrity and prevent leakages in sterile systems.
• Maintain alignment and smooth functioning of conveyor systems, gearboxes, and high-speed vial/ampoule handling equipment to reduce product damage and operational issues.
• Perform maintenance activities within Grade A/B cleanroom areas by strictly following aseptic entry protocols and contamination control practices.
• Ensure all tools and equipment used in sterile areas are properly sterilized or autoclaved before use.
• Use only approved pharma-grade or food-grade lubricants for maintenance of moving parts in sterile environments.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities, spare parts replacement, and equipment downtime in logbooks and history cards.
• Monitor equipment performance parameters and report abnormalities or potential failures to senior engineering staff.
• Maintain and manage inventory of critical spare parts to reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and ensure quick maintenance response.
• Coordinate with Production, QA, and Engineering teams to plan maintenance activities without affecting production schedules.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements during all maintenance activities.
• Assist in equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), validation activities, and periodic calibration of sterile equipment.
• Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure strict adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) policies and safe maintenance practices.
• Support internal and external audits by providing maintenance records and technical inputs related to sterile equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability, efficiency, and compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, maintenance areas, and equipment as per GMP standards.
• Assist in installation, commissioning, and setup of new sterile equipment and systems.
