Engineering - Utility - Executive

The Engineering – Utility Executive will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of utility systems including power distribution, HVAC support, and critical plant utilities. The focuses on ensuring continuous plant operations, improving energy efficiency, and maintaining compliance with cGMP and statutory requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Oversee operation and maintenance of power distribution systems including HT/LT panels, transformers, DG sets, UPS systems, and electrical networks to ensure zero downtime.
• Ensure uninterrupted power supply and proper load management across all production and utility areas.
• Manage and support HVAC systems including AHUs, chillers, and cooling towers to maintain required temperature, humidity, and pressure differentials in cleanroom environments.
• Execute and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance (PM) schedules for all utility equipment such as MCC panels, VFDs, compressors, boilers, and electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical and utility-related breakdowns using root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, breakdown reports, and equipment history in compliance with cGMP and SOPs.
• Monitor daily energy consumption, power factor, and fuel usage;entify opportunities for energy optimization and cost reduction.
• Implement energy-saving initiatives such as VFD optimization, LED lighting upgrades, and efficient load distribution strategies.
• Coordinate with external agencies and authorities for statutory inspections such as CEIG approvals, boiler inspections, and fire safety audits.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental standards related to utility operations.
• Support installation, commissioning, and qualification of new utility equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with Production, QA, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth plant operations and timely resolution of utility issues.
• Ensure adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) policies and promote safe working practices across utility operations.
• Monitor and maintain critical utility parameters and ensure timely reporting of any deviations or abnormalities.
• Participate in internal and external audits by providing utility-related documentation and technical support.
• Train technicians and junior staff on utility operations, maintenance practices, and safety procedures.
• Maintain inventory of critical spares and coordinate with procurement for timely availability of materials.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and compliance.
• Ensure proper documentation and control of change management, deviations, and CAPA related to utility systems.
