Housekeeping Staff

Housekeeping Staff is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and infection control standards across hospital areas. The includes cleaning patient rooms, wards, corridors, washrooms, waiting areas, and clinical spaces as per hospital protocols. Housekeeping Staff plays an important in creating a safe, clean, and comfortable healthcare environment for patients, visitors, doctors, and hospital staff.

Role & Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain patient rooms, wards, corridors, washrooms, reception areas, and hospital premises.
• Follow hospital cleaning schedules, hygiene standards, and infection control protocols.
• Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection of high-touch surfaces, beds, tables, chairs, and equipment areas.
• Support cleaning of clinical areas as per hospital safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Collect, segregate, and dispose of waste according to biomedical waste management rules.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient waiting areas, nursing stations, staff rooms, and public spaces.
• Refill housekeeping supplies such as handwash, tissue paper, sanitizer, and cleaning materials.
• Report damaged furniture, water leakage, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Assist in shifting housekeeping materials, linen, and cleaning equipment when required.
• Use cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and equipment safely as per instructions.
• Maintain washroom hygiene, odor control, and proper availability of basic supplies.
• Support emergency cleaning during spills, patient movement, procedures, or infection control situations.
• Follow personal hygiene, uniform, safety gear, and hospital discipline guidelines.
• Coordinate with nursing, maintenance, security, and administration teams for smooth hospital operations.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and patient-friendly hospital environment at all times.
