Patient Attendant Staff

Patient Attendant Staff is responsible for assisting patients with basic care, mobility support, comfort, and daily non-clinical needs under the guidance of nursing and medical teams. The requires compassion, patience, discipline, and awareness of hospital protocols. Patient Attendant Staff supports patient movement, hygiene assistance, basic observation, and coordination to ensure a safe and comfortable hospital experience.

Role & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with movement, shifting, wheelchair support, stretcher support, and basic mobility needs.
• Help patients with daily comfort requirements under the guidance of nursing staff.
• Support patient transfer between wards, diagnostic areas, OT, ICU, and discharge points.
• Assist elderly, weak, disabled, or dependent patients with safe movement and positioning.
• Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and comfort during assistance.
• Inform nursing staff immediately about patient discomfort, abnormal behavior, or emergency concerns.
• Help maintain cleanliness and order around patient beds and assigned care areas.
• Support nursing staff during patient admission, discharge, shifting, and basic care activities.
• Assist in collecting and delivering patient-related documents, reports, medicines, or samples when instructed.
• Follow hospital safety, hygiene, infection control, and patient care protocols.
• Guide patients and relatives regarding basic hospital directions and service locations.
• Ensure wheelchairs, stretchers, and patient movement equipment are clean and available.
• Support patient feeding, sitting, walking, or basic activity only as instructed by clinical staff.
• Maintain polite communication with patients, relatives, doctors, nurses, and hospital staff.
• Report any patient safety risk, fall risk, or service issue to the concerned team immediately.
