Job Description
Consultant Neurologist is responsible for diagnosing and managing neurological disorders affecting vision, eye movements, and the nervous system. The involves evaluating patients with optic nerve diseases, visual field defects, and neuro-visual complaints, interpreting diagnostic findings, and providing comprehensive neurological care in coordination with ophthalmology and other specialties.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat neurological disorders affecting vision and eye movement.
- Evaluate patients with optic nerve diseases and visual field defects.
- Assess and manage neuro-visual complaints in coordination with ophthalmology teams.
- Interpret neurological imaging and diagnostic test results accurately.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
- Provide OPD and IPD consultations for neurological and neuro-ophthalmic cases.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists, neurosurgeons, and other specialists for comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate medical records, clinical documentation, and patient reports.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning meetings.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, clinical guidelines, and quality standards.
- Educate patients and families regarding neurological conditions and treatment options.
- Provide counseling on disease management, prognosis, and follow-up care.
- Stay updated with advancements in neurology, neuro-imaging, and treatment modalities.
- Participate in clinical audits, academic discussions, and continuing medical education activities.
- Contribute to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based neurological care.
- Perform additional neurological consultation and clinical responsibilities assigned by management or senior consultants.
