Infection Control Nurse

The Infection Control Nurse will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection control policies and practices. This involves coordinating with multiple departments, conducting training, investigating infection outbreaks, and ensuring adherence to hospital and regulatory standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all infection prevention and control activities in the hospital.
• Develop, implement, and review infection control policies, SOPs, and protocols.
• Monitor environmental cleaning and housekeeping standards.
• Investigate infection outbreaks and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with microbiology, nursing, ICU, OT, wards, CSSD, housekeeping, and quality teams for compliance.
• Organize and conduct induction, refresher, and departmental training programs on infection control.
• Support hospital accreditation requirements related to infection control.
• Participate in Infection Control Committee meetings, presenting surveillance data and action plans.
• Ensure compliance with antimicrobial stewardship practices in collaboration with clinicians and microbiology.
• Monitor needle stick injuries, exposure incidents, and post-exposure protocol adherence.
• Guide and mentor junior infection control nurses and support teams.
• Maintain infection control records, reports, presentations, and statutory documentation.
