Associate Professor - Respiratory Therapy

The Assistant Professor - Respiratory Therapy will teach respiratory therapy concepts, pulmonary care, ventilator basics, oxygen therapy, patient assessment, emergency respiratory support, and clinical skill development at Velammal Group Institutions, Madurai. This requires M.Sc / B.Sc Respiratory Therapy qualification with 0–5 years of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct respiratory therapy lectures, practical sessions, tutorials, and demonstrations.
• Teach respiratory anatomy, pulmonary function, oxygen therapy, ventilator basics, and airway care.
• Guide students in patient assessment, ABG interpretation basics, nebulization, and respiratory support.
• Prepare teaching plans, practical schedules, assignments, and academic records.
• Supervise students during ICU, emergency, pulmonary care, and respiratory therapy postings.
• Teach infection control, equipment handling, patient safety, and clinical documentation.
• Support internal assessments, viva, practical evaluation, and student performance review.
• Coordinate with ICU, emergency, respiratory care departments, and academic teams.
• Maintain attendance, practical logs, academic files, and departmental documentation.
• Deliver structured, safe, and student-focused respiratory therapy education.
