OT Manager

The OT Manager will be responsible for managing all operation theatre functions, coordinating surgical schedules, supervising OT staff, ensuring infection control practices, and maintaining equipment readiness. The requires strong clinical knowledge, administrative skills, and the ability to manage high-pressure surgical environments while ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the operation theatre complex.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage OT schedules for elective and emergency surgeries.
• Ensure availability and readiness of OT equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Supervise OT nurses, technicians, and support staff.
• Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols in OT areas.
• Ensure adherence to surgical safety standards and hospital policies.
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing teams for smooth procedures.
• Monitor pre-operative and post-operative processes within OT.
• Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of OT equipment and machinery.
• Manage inventory, stock levels, and procurement of OT consumables.
• Handle emergency cases and ensure quick OT readiness.
• Maintain accurate OT records, logs, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with NABH standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct audits and quality checks related to OT operations.
• Train and mentor OT staff on protocols, safety, and best practices.
• Monitor staff performance and ensure proper duty allocation.
• Coordinate with CSSD for sterile instrument supply and management.
• Ensure proper biomedical waste management within OT areas.
• Address and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Prepare reports and MIS related to OT utilization and performance.
• Ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical practices at all times.
