Job Description
The Senior Consultant – Interventional Cardiology will specialize in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases through minimally invasive procedures. This requires extensive expertise in interventional cardiology, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to handle high-risk cardiac emergencies.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of cardiovascular conditions.
- Perform interventional procedures such as angiography, angioplasty, stenting, and catheter-based treatments.
- Manage acute cardiac emergencies including myocardial infarction and unstable angina.
- Interpret diagnostic tests including ECG, echocardiography, stress tests, and cardiac imaging.
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for cardiac patients.
- Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure care and monitoring.
- Lead and supervise cardiac catheterization lab (Cath Lab) activities.
- Coordinate with cardiology team, intensivists, and other specialists for patient care.
- Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, SOPs, and international guidelines.
- Participate in emergency response and code blue situations.
- Monitor patient outcomes and ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and procedure documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding procedures and risks.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety standards.
- Mentor and train junior doctors, fellows, and medical staff.
- Participate in clinical audits, research, and academic activities.
- Stay updated with advancements in interventional cardiology techniques and technologies.
- Handle medico-legal cases and documentation when required.
- Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of Cath Lab equipment.
- Work in coordination with hospital management for service development.
- Participate in medical camps, awareness programs, and CME activities.
- Maintain ethical medical practices and patient confidentiality.
- Manage high-pressure situations with professionalism and expertise.
- Contribute to the growth and reputation of cardiac services.
- Ensure excellence in patient care and clinical outcomes.
