Nutritionist (Paediatrics)

KEM Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nutritionist (Paediatrics) to provide specialized clinical nutrition care for pediatric patients. The involves assessing nutritional needs, developing individualized diet plans, and supporting the multidisciplinary healthcare team to improve patient outcomes through evidence-based pediatric nutrition interventions.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess the nutritional requirements of pediatric patients based on medical condition, age, and clinical history.
• Develop individualized nutrition intervention plans and dietetic guidelines for children.
• Design and implement therapeutic diets for neonatal, infant, child, and adolescent patients.
• Coordinate closely with pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for integrated patient care.
• Plan and select appropriate food items in alignment with pediatric dietetic principles and clinical requirements.
• Provide nutrition counseling to patients’ parents and family members regarding dietary management and care.
• Monitor patient progress and maintain regular follow-ups for nutritional assessment and adjustment of plans.
• Maintain accurate and detailed nutrition records and patient dietary data.
• Develop educational materials, brochures, and literature related to pediatric nutrition services.
• Conduct training sessions for interns (general, specialized, and RD internships) as required.
• Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary case discussions for pediatric cases.
• Ensure compliance with hospital nutrition protocols, clinical guidelines, and safety standards.
• Support research, audits, and quality improvement initiatives in pediatric nutrition services.
• Maintain documentation for audits, reporting, and departmental review.
• Educate caregivers on long-term dietary management and preventive nutrition strategies.
• Stay updated with advancements in pediatric nutrition and evidence-based practices.
• Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by the HOD or management as per departmental requirements.
