Physiotherapist (Neuro)

KEM Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physiotherapist (Neuro) to provide specialized neuro-rehabilitation services to patients suffering from neurological conditions, injuries, or disabilities. The involves assessing patient needs, designing individualized rehabilitation programs, and delivering evidence-based physiotherapy interventions to restore mobility, improve function, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. The ideal candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care and optimal rehabilitation outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, organize, and implement neuro-rehabilitation programs for patients with neurological conditions.
• Evaluate patient condition through detailed clinical assessment, strength testing, motor function analysis, and sensory evaluation.
• Develop individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional independence.
• Perform initial patient examinations andentify physiotherapy needs based on diagnosis and medical records.
• Administer exercise therapy and electrotherapy to relieve pain and improve physical function.
• Utilize therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, moist packs, and infrared therapy.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress at different stages and modify treatment plans accordingly.
• Document patient assessments, treatment plans, prognosis, and progress in medical records or digital systems.
• Collaborate with physicians, neurologists, and healthcare professionals to design and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment procedures, home exercise programs, and injury prevention strategies.
• Instruct patients on ergonomics, mobility techniques, and lifestyle modifications for better recovery.
• Obtain informed consent from patients prior to initiating treatment interventions.
• Discharge patients from physiotherapy services upon achieving treatment goals and provide follow-up guidance.
• Refer patients to appropriate medical specialists when findings fall outside physiotherapy scope.
• Evaluate and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices as required for patient rehabilitation.
• ect and supervise physiotherapy assistants and supportive staff, ensuring proper task delegation and coordination.
• Conduct group rehabilitation sessions and support community-based therapy programs.
• Participate in teaching and training activities for students and healthcare professionals.
• Apply evidence-based practice and contribute to physiotherapy research and clinical improvements.
• Analyze patient data to determine optimal treatment strategies and problem-solving approaches.
• Maintain strong professional relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Ensure compliance with medical regulations, hospital protocols, and ethical standards.
• Conduct home visits for physiotherapy sessions as required by patient condition.
• Ensure home visit schedules are coordinated and informed to the Head of Department (HOD).
• Follow hospital policies regarding home visit assignments and service packages.
• Participate in continuous learning, skill development, and departmental meetings.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by HOD or hospital management as required.
