OT Technician

Skilled OT Technician responsible for supporting surgical procedures, maintaining operation theatre equipment, and ensuring smooth functioning of OT activities in healthcare settings. Experienced in instrument preparation, sterilization, patient positioning, and surgical assistance. Adept at maintaining sterile environments, handling surgical equipment, coordinating with surgeons and nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with infection control and patient safety standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare operation theatre and surgical equipment before procedures.
• Arrange and sterilize surgical instruments, trays, and medical supplies.
• Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and OT nurses during surgical procedures.
• Ensure proper functioning and availability of OT equipment and devices.
• Support patient preparation, positioning, and transfer during surgeries.
• Maintain sterile conditions and follow infection control protocols at all times.
• Handle surgical instruments carefully during operative procedures.
• Monitor OT cleanliness, sterilization processes, and biomedical waste disposal.
• Coordinate with CSSD, nursing staff, and surgical teams for operational support.
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of OT equipment.
• Maintain OT records, instrument logs, and procedure documentation accurately.
• Respond promptly during emergency and critical surgical situations.
• Ensure availability of surgical consumables and inventory management support.
• Follow hospital safety guidelines, SOPs, and quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for efficient OT operations and patient safety.
