OPD Staff

The OPD Staff will be responsible for supporting outpatient department operations, patient registration, appointment coordination, patient guidance, doctor assistance, and smooth OPD workflow. This requires good communication skills, basic hospital process knowledge, patient-friendly behavior, and coordination with doctors, nurses, front office, billing, pharmacy, and diagnostic teams. The candidate will ensure timely patient movement, proper documentation, and a positive outpatient experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily OPD patient flow and outpatient service coordination.
• Guide patients and attendants regarding registration, consultation, billing, pharmacy, and diagnostics.
• Coordinate appointment schedules, doctor availability, and patient waiting queues.
• Support doctors and nurses during OPD consultations as per department requirements.
• Verify patient details, appointment records, OPD files, and required documents.
• Help patients move between consultation rooms, investigation areas, billing, and pharmacy.
• Maintain OPD registers, patient records, forms, reports, and daily documentation.
• Coordinate with front office, billing, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and nursing teams.
• Handle patient queries politely and provide correct information about OPD processes.
• Support basic patient preparation before consultation or minor procedures.
• Monitor waiting areas and help reduce delays through proper communication.
• Escalate patient complaints, urgent cases, or service issues to seniors promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness, discipline, and proper arrangement of OPD areas.
• Follow hospital protocols for patient privacy, infection control, and service standards.
• Ensure every patient receives respectful guidance and smooth OPD support.
