Technician - Cardiology

The Technician – Cardiology is responsible for conducting various non-invasive and invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, maintaining equipment, and assisting in patient preparation and monitoring. This requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests such as ECG, TMT, Holter monitoring, and stress tests.
• Assist cardiologists during invasive procedures including angiography and angioplasty when required.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Monitor patient vital signs during procedures and report any abnormalities immediately.
• Operate and maintain cardiology equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
• Ensure all necessary consumables and equipment are available prior to procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of tests conducted and patient reports.
• Ensure timely uploading and documentation of diagnostic reports in the system.
• Follow standard operating procedures and clinical protocols during all procedures.
• Maintain strict infection control practices and hygiene standards.
• Handle and store equipment and consumables safely as per guidelines.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other technicians for smooth workflow.
• Assist in emergency situations and respond promptly to urgent cardiac cases.
• Educate patients about test procedures and provide necessary instructions.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times.
• Perform routine checks and troubleshooting of equipment to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with biomedical and maintenance teams for equipment servicing.
• Maintain inventory of cardiology supplies and report shortages in advance.
• Support quality assurance activities and comply with accreditation standards.
• Participate in training programs and stay updated with advancements in cardiology technology.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the cardiology lab.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
• Provide support during health camps, screenings, and outreach programs if required.
• Maintain professionalism, accuracy, and efficiency in all assigned tasks.
