Housekeeping Supervisor

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising housekeeping staff, monitoring daily cleaning operations, and ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety standards. Roles and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage housekeeping staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Allocate duties, prepare duty rosters, and monitor staff attendance and performance.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of patient rooms, wards, ICUs, OPD areas, corridors, and public spaces.
• Monitor and enforce infection control protocols and hygiene standards across the hospital.
• Conduct regular inspections and rounds to assess cleanliness andentify areas for improvement.
• Ensure timely cleaning and turnover of patient rooms and beds.
• Coordinate with nursing and operations teams for cleaning requirements in critical areas.
• Maintain adequate stock of cleaning materials, chemicals, and housekeeping supplies.
• Ensure proper usage, handling, and storage of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Train housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety practices, and infection control measures.
• Ensure compliance with biomedical waste management guidelines and segregation protocols.
• Coordinate with waste disposal teams for timely and safe disposal of waste.
• Address complaints related to cleanliness and resolve issues promptly.
• Monitor pest control activities and coordinate with vendors for scheduled services.
• Maintain records of cleaning schedules, staff performance, and inventory usage.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Support audits, inspections, and accreditation processes related to housekeeping.
• Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for repairs and upkeep of facilities.
• Ensure proper signage and safety measures are in place during cleaning activities.
• Manage emergency cleaning requirements such as spills, infections, or outbreak situations.
• Promote a culture of cleanliness, discipline, and teamwork among housekeeping staff.
• Monitor linen management and coordinate with laundry services when required.
• Escalate major issues or shortages to higher management in a timely manner.
