Women are more likely to develop lupus than men, and the disease often begins between the ages of 15 and 44.

World Lupus Day is observed annually on May 10th to raise awareness about lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that can cause a range of symptoms and affect different parts of the body. Despite affecting millions of people worldwide, lupus remains widely misunderstood, and there is still much that is unknown about the disease.

The day serves as an opportunity to acknowledge that the seemingly random symptoms associated with lupus are part of a debilitating, chronic autoimmune disease.

National Lupus Day is observed on May 10th every year in the United States. This day is part of Lupus Awareness Month, which is observed throughout May.

The aim of National Lupus Day and Lupus Awareness Month is to increase public understanding of lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that can cause a range of symptoms, including joint pain, fatigue, skin rashes, and organ damage.

By raising awareness about lupus, advocates hope to improve diagnosis and treatment options, as well as support ongoing research efforts to find a cure for this complex disease.
