Anesthesia Technician is responsible for preparing anesthesia equipment, supporting anesthetists during procedures, maintaining operation theatre readiness, and assisting in patient safety during surgical care. The requires diploma or degree in Anesthesia Technology preferred with 0 to 4 years of experience. Candidates should have knowledge of anesthesia, OT workflow, operation theatre support, equipment preparation, and procedure assistance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare anesthesia machines, circuits, monitors, and emergency equipment before procedures.
- Assist anesthetists during induction, maintenance, and recovery phases.
- Check oxygen supply, suction, airway devices, and emergency drugs readiness.
- Support operation theatre preparation for planned and emergency surgeries.
- Help in patient positioning, monitoring, and procedure support under supervision.
- Maintain anesthesia equipment cleanliness and functional readiness.
- Assist in airway management setup including laryngoscope, ET tubes, and masks.
- Monitor equipment parameters and report abnormalities to seniors.
- Maintain anesthesia procedure logs, equipment records, and checklist documentation.
- Coordinate with OT nurses, anesthetists, biomedical, and surgical teams.
- Support cleaning, disinfection, and safe storage of anesthesia accessories.
- Follow infection control, OT safety, and biomedical waste protocols.
- Report equipment breakdowns or repair needs immediately.
- Ensure availability of consumables required for anesthesia procedures.
- Provide disciplined, alert, and safe anesthesia technical support.
