Engineering - Plant Maintenance - Technician

The Engineering – Plant Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting OSD (Oral Solid Dosage) manufacturing equipment and utility systems. The involves performing preventive maintenance, ensuring equipment reliability, maintaining proper documentation, and supporting validation activities. The candidate will also ensure adherence to cleanroom protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory compliance while minimizing downtime and optimizing plant performance.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of OSD equipment such as RMG, FBD, compression, coating, capsule filling, and blister packing machines.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults to ensure minimal equipment downtime.
• Conduct routine inspection and monitoring of equipment performance and operational parameters.
• Ensure proper lubrication, calibration, and upkeep of machinery.
• Maintain utility systems including HVAC, compressed air, water systems, and related equipment.
• Record maintenance activities in logbooks, equipment history cards, and breakdown reports.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, and documentation practices.
• Perform maintenance activities in cleanroom environments following gowning and contamination control protocols.
• Assist in installation, commissioning, and validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) of equipment.
• Support periodic calibration and qualification of instruments and machines.
• Follow EHS guidelines and ensure safe working practices at all times.
• Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities and reduce downtime.
• entify recurring issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure availability of spare parts and coordinate with stores/procurement.
• Maintain housekeeping and organization in maintenance areas.
• Support audits and inspections by maintaining proper records and documentation.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Assist in modification and improvement projects for plant machinery.
• Report incidents, near misses, and deviations to supervisors promptly.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and engineering standards.
