Assistant Supervisor IPD Billing

Fortis Healthcare Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Supervisor – IPD Billing to oversee inpatient billing operations, ensure accuracy in billing processes, and support smooth financial transactions within the hospital. The involves supervising billing staff, managing patient accounts, and ensuring compliance with billing policies and insurance requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day IPD billing operations and ensure timely and accurate billing.
• Verify inpatient bills for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with hospital tariffs.
• Coordinate with clinical departments to capture all billable services.
• Manage billing for cash, corporate, insurance, and TPA patients.
• Ensure proper documentation and processing of insurance and TPA claims.
• Handle billing escalations, discrepancies, and patient queries effectively.
• Monitor billing turnaround time and ensure adherence to defined timelines.
• Assist in bed management coordination related to admissions and discharges.
• Review discounts, refunds, and adjustments as per hospital policies.
• Ensure accurate posting of charges, payments, and settlements in the system.
• Train and guide billing executives for process improvement and efficiency.
• Maintain records and reports related to billing, collections, and outstanding dues.
• Coordinate with finance and accounts teams for reconciliation activities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal audit requirements.
• Support in preparing MIS reports and billing analytics for management review.
• Monitor pending bills, unbilled cases, and ensure timely closure.
• Ensure proper handling of medico-legal and special billing cases.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient financial and personal information.
• Participate in internal and external audits related to billing functions.
• Continuouslyentify and implement improvements in billing processes and patient experience.
