Resident Anaesthesiology

Resident Anaesthesiology is responsible for providing anaesthesia care and perioperative patient management during surgical procedures. The involves conducting pre-anaesthetic evaluations, administering anaesthesia, monitoring patients during surgery, assisting in critical care management, and ensuring patient safety throughout perioperative care.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre-anaesthetic assessments and evaluate patient fitness for surgery.
• Administer general, regional, and local anaesthesia as per clinical requirements.
• Monitor patient vital signs and anaesthesia levels during surgical procedures.
• Provide perioperative patient care and ensure patient safety throughout surgery.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and healthcare professionals for treatment planning.
• Assist in management of critical care and emergency cases when required.
• Monitor post-operative recovery and manage pain control protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records, anaesthesia notes, and treatment documentation.
• Ensure proper functioning and preparation of anaesthesia equipment and medications.
• Respond promptly to anaesthesia-related emergencies and complications.
• Participate in ICU, emergency, and OT support activities as assigned.
• Follow hospital protocols, infection control measures, and patient safety standards.
• Educate patients and families regarding anaesthesia procedures and post-operative care.
• Participate in clinical audits, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated with advancements in anaesthesiology practices and critical care techniques.
• Perform additional clinical and anaesthesia-related responsibilities assigned by senior consultants or management.
