Job Description
Dialysis Technician is responsible for operating dialysis equipment and providing technical and patient care support during dialysis procedures. The involves preparing dialysis machines, monitoring patients during treatment, maintaining treatment records, and ensuring safe and effective dialysis services in coordination with healthcare teams.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain dialysis equipment to ensure proper functioning and patient safety.
- Prepare dialysis machines and treatment areas before dialysis procedures.
- Monitor patients during dialysis sessions and respond promptly to complications or emergencies.
- Check and record patient vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen levels.
- Administer anticoagulants and other medications as prescribed by doctors.
- Assist in vascular access preparation and support dialysis initiation procedures.
- Monitor blood flow, dialysis parameters, and treatment effectiveness during procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient treatment records and dialysis documentation.
- Coordinate with nephrologists, nurses, and healthcare teams for patient management.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and biomedical waste management standards.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain dialysis machines and related equipment after use.
- Educate patients regarding dialysis procedures, care instructions, and treatment precautions.
- Monitor inventory of dialysis consumables and coordinate replenishment when required.
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and emotional support during dialysis sessions.
- Participate in emergency response and critical care support during dialysis complications.
- Perform additional dialysis and technical support responsibilities assigned by management or supervisors.
