Job Description

Fortis Healthcare Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Attending Consultant – Cardiology to provide advanced cardiac care, manage complex cardiovascular conditions, and deliver excellence in both non-invasive and interventional cardiology services. The involves clinical leadership, patient management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal cardiac outcomes.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of cardiovascular diseases and conditions.
  • Conduct comprehensive cardiac evaluations including clinical assessments and risk stratification.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests such as ECG, echocardiography, stress tests, and cardiac imaging.
  • Perform and supervise non-invasive and invasive cardiology procedures as applicable.
  • Manage acute cardiac emergencies including myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, and heart failure.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative cardiac care for surgical patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment and management plans.
  • Participate in cardiac catheterization, angiography, and interventional procedures (if applicable).
  • Lead cardiac rounds and collaborate with intensivists and other specialists.
  • Provide patient and family counseling regarding diagnosis, procedures, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Ensure adherence to evidence-based cardiology protocols and clinical guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient medical records.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, and cardiology staff.
  • Participate in OPD consultations, IPD management, and emergency care services.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and safety protocols.
  • Contribute to cardiac rehabilitation and preventive cardiology programs.
  • Participate in clinical audits, research, and academic activities.
  • Stay updated with advancements in cardiology and interventional techniques.
  • Support outreach programs, health camps, and cardiac awareness initiatives.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and patient confidentiality.
