Dialysis Technician

Fortis Healthcare Limited is seeking a skilled and dedicated Dialysis Technician to provide high-quality dialysis care, operate dialysis equipment, and ensure patient safety during hemodialysis procedures. The involves patient preparation, monitoring during treatment, and maintaining strict infection control standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate dialysis machines for hemodialysis procedures.
• Assess patients prior to dialysis, including vital signs and clinical condition.
• Initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis sessions as per prescribed protocols.
• Ensure proper vascular access care including AV fistula, graft, and catheter handling.
• Monitor patients during dialysis for complications such as hypotension, cramps, or reactions.
• Maintain accurate records of dialysis treatment parameters and patient responses.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control and sterilization protocols.
• Handle and dispose of biomedical waste as per regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain and calibrate dialysis equipment and ensure proper functioning.
• Prepare dialysate solutions and ensure correct machine settings.
• Coordinate with nephrologists, nurses, and other healthcare staff for patient care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on dialysis procedures and post-treatment care.
• Manage inventory of dialysis consumables and ensure availability of supplies.
• Respond promptly to emergencies during dialysis procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the dialysis unit.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and safety guidelines.
• Participate in quality assurance and audit activities.
• Assist in patient scheduling and workflow management within the dialysis unit.
• Stay updated with advancements in dialysis technology and practices.
• Maintain professionalism, empathy, and patient confidentiality at all times.
