Analyst / Sr. Analyst - Microbiology

The Analyst / Sr. Analyst – Microbiology will be responsible for performing routine and advanced microbiological tests, maintaining laboratory standards, and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines. This requires strong technical expertise, accuracy, and adherence to quality systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform microbiological testing including Microbial Limit Test (MLT) and Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing (AET).
• Conduct method development, validation, and verification of microbiological methods.
• Prepare disinfectants, culture media, and ensure proper growth promotion testing.
• Maintain microbial cultures, strains, and reference organisms as per protocols.
• Perform sterilization processes using autoclaves and other equipment.
• Carry out environmental monitoring of cleanrooms and laboratory areas.
• Conduct fumigation and ensure aseptic conditions within the microbiology lab.
• Ensure proper sample handling, testing, and disposal as per biosafety guidelines.
• Maintain strict adherence to GMP, GLP, and regulatory requirements.
• Document all activities, results, and observations accurately as per GMP practices.
• Prepare and review SOPs, protocols, validation reports, and test reports.
• Investigate deviations, OOS (Out of Specification), and OOT (Out of Trend) results.
• Ensure calibration, maintenance, and qualification of microbiology lab equipment.
• Participate in internal and external audits and ensure audit readiness.
• Collaborate with QA/QC teams to ensure compliance and quality standards.
• Train and mentor junior staff and technicians in microbiological techniques.
• Maintain inventory of media, reagents, and microbiology consumables.
• Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, and contamination control practices.
• Support research and development activities related to microbiology testing.
• Monitor and record laboratory conditions such as temperature and humidity.
• Ensure timely reporting of test results and critical findings.
• Maintain data integrity and confidentiality in all laboratory work.
• Stay updated with advancements in microbiology and regulatory guidelines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in laboratory processes and efficiency.
