The Pharmacist will support hospital pharmacy operations, prescription handling, medicine dispensing, stock control, drug safety, inventory management, and patient counselling at Fortis Hospitals, Mumbai. This requires D.Pharm or B.Pharm qualification with 0–3 years of experience in pharmacy, pharma, pharmaceutical work, medicine, inventory, and pharmacovigilance.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Review doctor prescriptions and dispense medicines accurately as per hospital pharmacy standards.
- Check medicine name, strength, dose, quantity, batch number, expiry date, and billing details before handing over.
- Counsel patients or attendants about medicine schedule, precautions, storage, side effects, and follow-up advice.
- Maintain daily medicine issue records, stock entries, return records, expiry data, and pharmacy documentation.
- Monitor low stock, near-expiry, damaged medicines, emergency medicines, and fast-moving drugs.
- Arrange medicines in proper racks with correct labeling, segregation, and storage discipline.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, billing, stores, purchase, and pharmacy colleagues for smooth service.
- Support pharmacy audits, physical stock verification, inventory reconciliation, and discrepancy reporting.
- Follow safe handling of high-alert, refrigerated, emergency, and controlled medicines.
- Report medication errors, adverse drug reactions, or pharmacovigilance concerns as per hospital policy.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness, confidentiality, and professional communication.
- Ensure safe, timely, and patient-focused pharmacy services.
