Registrar - General Surgery

Registrar - General Surgery is responsible for supporting surgical patient care, emergency surgical management, operation theatre assistance, ward rounds, and clinical documentation. The requires MS or DNB General Surgery preferred qualification with 0 to 2 years of experience. Candidates should have knowledge of general surgery, surgical conditions, patient care, emergency surgery, and hospital clinical workflow.

Role & Responsibilities

• Assess and manage general surgery OPD, IPD, and emergency patients.
• Assist consultants during surgical procedures and operative care.
• Support pre-operative evaluation and surgical preparation.
• Monitor post-operative patients and identify complications early.
• Provide wound care, dressing support, and surgical follow-up.
• Review investigations, imaging, and laboratory reports for surgical planning.
• Maintain surgical notes, progress records, and discharge documentation.
• Coordinate with OT, anesthesia, ICU, nursing, and diagnostic teams.
• Counsel patients and attendants about surgery and recovery care.
• Follow infection control, surgical safety, and patient care standards.
• Participate in ward rounds, emergency calls, and case discussions.
• Deliver safe, ethical, and patient-focused surgical care.
