Technologist Radiation Therapy

Technologist – Radiation Therapy is responsible for delivering accurate and safe radiation treatments to patients as per prescribed treatment plans and physician instructions. The involves preparing patients for radiation therapy procedures, operating radiation therapy equipment, maintaining treatment documentation, and ensuring adherence to patient safety and radiation protection protocols. The candidate will play an important in supporting quality cancer care while maintaining patient comfort, safety, and emotional well-being throughout the treatment process.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Deliver radiation therapy treatments accurately according to physician prescriptions and approved treatment plans.
• Prepare patients for radiation therapy procedures and ensure proper positioning before treatment.
• Prepare mold immobilization devices and treatment accessories as per physician instructions.
• Operate radiation therapy equipment safely and efficiently during treatment procedures.
• Ensure patient safety by following radiation protection guidelines and departmental safety protocols.
• Monitor patients during treatment sessions and observe emotional and physical tolerance to therapy.
• Provide compassionate care and maintain a supportive environment for patients and their families.
• Maintain accurate and complete treatment records in physical files and ARIA systems.
• Verify treatment parameters and ensure correct treatment setup before radiation delivery.
• Recognize deviations or abnormalities in treatment delivery and report them immediately to the Chief Therapist or concerned authority.
• Coordinate with radiation oncologists, physicists, and healthcare staff for effective treatment planning and execution.
• Schedule patient appointments and treatment sessions according to prescribed treatment plans.
• Ensure proper functioning and daily quality checks of radiation therapy equipment.
• Follow infection control, patient safety, and hospital operational protocols at all times.
• Educate patients regarding treatment procedures, precautions, and expected side effects when required.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
• Assist in emergency management and patient care during critical situations.
• Ensure cleanliness and readiness of treatment rooms and equipment.
• Participate in departmental meetings, audits, training sessions, and quality improvement activities.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or operational issues promptly to the concerned department.
