Job Description

The Staff Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients across wards, ICU, OT, NICU, and Cathlab. The includes assisting in clinical procedures, administering medications, maintaining patient hygiene, supporting doctors during treatments, and ensuring accurate documentation while following hospital policies and protocols.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Carry out patient admission and discharge procedures efficiently.
  • Prepare beds for patients, including critically ill patients, and ensure proper linen management.
  • Maintain patient hygiene, comfort, and overall care needs.
  • Assist and support patients with feeding and nutritional requirements.
  • Follow and implement ward/ICU policies, routines, and nursing standards.
  • Coordinate patient care with doctors, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform nursing procedures and technical tasks as per clinical requirements.
  • Administer medications, injections, and IV fluids as prescribed.
  • Assist doctors during medical, surgical, diagnostic, and interventional procedures.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and ensure all required equipment and materials are ready.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs and clinical conditions regularly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, nursing records, and procedure reports.
  • Ensure infection control practices and patient safety protocols are strictly followed.
  • Provide emergency care and respond promptly to critical situations.
  • Assist in post-operative care and recovery monitoring of patients.
  • Ensure proper handover during shift changes for continuity of care.
  • Support end-of-life care, including respectful handling and documentation in case of patient death.
  • Arrange transfer of deceased patients to mortuary or handover to family as per protocol.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and clinical guidelines.
  • Participate in continuous training and skill development programs.
  • Maintain professionalism, empathy, and patient-centered care at all times.
