Unit - Nursing Manager

The Unit Nursing Manager will be responsible for managing all nursing personnel and operations within the hospital unit, developing and implementing nursing policies, ensuring quality patient care, overseeing infection control and NABH compliance, managing budgets, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. The requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and administrative capabilities to ensure smooth functioning of nursing services and continuous improvement in patient care standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all nursing personnel and daily nursing operations within the unit.
• Develop short-term and long-term goals for the nursing department.
• Establish, update, and implement nursing policies and procedures to enhance patient care standards.
• Plan and oversee patient admission, nursing care, and clinical workflow processes.
• Ensure smooth coordination between nursing staff, doctors, and other hospital departments.
• Monitor and manage department budgets, expenditures, and resource utilization.
• Address and resolve nursing-related issues promptly and effectively.
• Oversee infection control practices, quality management systems, and NABH compliance.
• Ensure accurate and timely medical record documentation and compliance with standards.
• Hire, train, mentor, and develop nursing staff across all levels.
• Conduct performance evaluations and prepare detailed staff performance reports.
• Monitor KPIs/KQIs related to patient care and nursing performance.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise implementation of patient care standards and nursing best practices.
• Coordinate with senior management and report on departmental performance and challenges.
• Ensure readiness for internal and external audits and inspections.
• Promote continuous professional development and training programs for nursing staff.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, satisfaction, and quality care delivery.
