RMO - NICU

Echelon Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled RMO – NICU to provide comprehensive medical care to newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The involves managing critically ill neonates, assisting neonatologists, and ensuring timely interventions for improved neonatal outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage neonates in the NICU, including premature and critically ill infants.
• Monitor vital parameters, oxygen saturation, and overall clinical status of newborns.
• Assist in neonatal resuscitation and emergency interventions.
• Manage ventilated babies and support respiratory care including CPAP and oxygen therapy.
• Perform procedures such as IV line insertion, umbilical catheterization, and blood sampling.
• Assist consultants/neonatologists during rounds and clinical procedures.
• Interpret laboratory reports, imaging, and diagnostic findings.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records and treatment plans.
• Respond promptly to neonatal emergencies and deteriorating conditions.
• Coordinate with NICU nursing staff for patient care and monitoring.
• Counsel parents regarding the baby’s condition, treatment, and progress.
• Ensure adherence to infection control and aseptic protocols.
• Assist in discharge planning and preparation of discharge summaries.
• Participate in neonatal transport and referral management when required.
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, NABH standards, and clinical guidelines.
• Participate in clinical audits, case discussions, and academic activities.
• Supervise interns and junior staff as required.
• Maintain proper handover during shift changes.
• Stay updated with advancements in neonatology and NICU care practices.
• Uphold professionalism, ethics, and patient confidentiality at all times.
