Staff Nurses - NICU

Echelon Hospital is seeking compassionate and skilled Staff Nurses – NICU to provide specialized care to newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The involves monitoring critically ill neonates, supporting life-saving interventions, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for infants and their families.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates, including premature and critically ill infants.
• Monitor vital signs, oxygen levels, and overall clinical condition of newborns.
• Assist in neonatal resuscitation and emergency interventions.
• Operate and monitor NICU equipment such as incubators, ventilators, and infusion pumps.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and nutritional support as prescribed.
• Maintain strict infection control and aseptic protocols within the NICU.
• Assist neonatologists and pediatricians during procedures and rounds.
• Monitor feeding patterns and support breastfeeding or alternative feeding methods.
• Maintain accurate and detailed nursing records and documentation.
• Provide emotional support and counseling to parents and caregivers.
• Ensure safe handling, positioning, and comfort of neonates.
• Identify early signs of complications and report to the medical team promptly.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive neonatal care.
• Prepare and maintain NICU equipment and ensure readiness for emergencies.
• Participate in neonatal transport when required.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and safety protocols.
• Participate in clinical audits, training, and quality improvement programs.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the NICU environment.
• Stay updated with advancements in neonatal care and nursing practices.
