Dialysis Technician -Supervisor

The Dialysis Technician - Supervisor will be responsible for supervising dialysis unit operations, managing dialysis technicians, monitoring machine readiness, ensuring patient safety, maintaining procedure documentation, and coordinating with nephrologists and nursing teams. This requires Diploma in Dialysis or relevant qualification, strong dialysis experience, infection control knowledge, and leadership ability.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise daily dialysis unit workflow, patient scheduling, and technician activities.
• Ensure dialysis machines, RO system, dialyzers, tubing, and consumables are ready before sessions.
• Verify patient identity, dialysis prescription, vascular access, and pre-dialysis vitals.
• Monitor dialysis procedures, patient vitals, machine alarms, and complications.
• Guide technicians in machine operation, disinfection, documentation, and patient safety.
• Coordinate with nephrologists, nurses, biomedical, pharmacy, laboratory, and administration teams.
• Maintain dialysis records, machine logs, disinfection logs, stock records, and procedure documentation.
• Ensure infection control, PPE, biomedical waste, and dialysis safety protocols are followed.
• Manage emergency situations such as hypotension, cramps, access issues, or machine alarms.
• Track consumables, reorder requirements, stock shortages, and equipment maintenance needs.
• Support staff training, duty allocation, and performance monitoring.
• Report equipment malfunction, clinical concerns, or operational issues to management.
• Monitor quality standards and help reduce dialysis-related errors.
• Maintain cleanliness, discipline, and safety in the dialysis unit.
• Ensure smooth, safe, and patient-friendly dialysis services.
