MRD Technician

The MRD Technician will be responsible for maintaining medical records, patient files, discharge summaries, documentation tracking, file retrieval, coding support, and record confidentiality. This requires graduate qualification, good computer knowledge, attention to detail, and understanding of hospital documentation workflow. The candidate will ensure proper organization, accuracy, availability, and security of medical records.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintain patient medical records, case sheets, discharge files, and hospital documentation.
• Collect, arrange, scan, index, and store patient records as per MRD standards.
• Retrieve files for doctors, audits, insurance, legal, or administrative requirements.
• Check patient files for completeness including consent, reports, notes, and discharge summaries.
• Maintain inpatient, outpatient, death, birth, MLC, and discharge record registers as applicable.
• Support medical coding, data entry, and record classification activities when required.
• Coordinate with wards, doctors, billing, insurance, nursing, and administration teams.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of patient records at all times.
• Track pending discharge summaries, missing documents, and incomplete files.
• Prepare MRD reports, daily statistics, and documentation status updates.
• Support NABH, audit, medico-legal, and compliance documentation requirements.
• Ensure proper filing, numbering, labeling, and archival of medical records.
• Respond to authorized record requests as per hospital policy.
• Report record discrepancies, missing files, or documentation gaps to seniors.
• Maintain systematic, accurate, and compliant MRD operations.
