DMS - Deputy Medical Superintendent

The DMS - Deputy Medical Superintendent will be responsible for supporting hospital medical administration, clinical governance, patient care quality, consultant coordination, policy implementation, medico-legal documentation, and operational supervision. This requires MBBS, MD, Hospital Administration, or MHA qualification, strong leadership, clinical administration knowledge, and coordination with medical, nursing, operations, quality, and management teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Support overall medical administration and clinical service coordination across hospital departments.
• Monitor patient care standards, clinical workflows, and consultant coordination.
• Assist in implementation of hospital policies, SOPs, medical protocols, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with consultants, RMOs, nursing, ICU, OT, emergency, diagnostics, and administration teams.
• Review clinical incidents, patient complaints, medico-legal matters, and critical case escalations.
• Support admission, discharge, referral, transfer, death summary, and consent documentation processes.
• Monitor duty rosters, medical manpower, emergency readiness, and clinical department functioning.
• Participate in quality audits, NABH compliance, infection control, and patient safety activities.
• Coordinate clinical meetings, mortality reviews, case discussions, and medical committee activities.
• Ensure proper medical records, discharge summaries, and statutory documentation compliance.
• Handle patient and relative concerns with professional communication and timely resolution.
• Support training, clinical governance, risk management, and process improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with management for strategic hospital operations and service development.
• Ensure ethical medical practice and regulatory compliance across departments.
• Promote safe, efficient, and patient-centered hospital care delivery.
