Job Description

Technical Supervisor - Manufacturing is responsible for supervising maintenance and engineering activities related to pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and plant operations. The involves preventive and breakdown maintenance, implementation of maintenance schedules, coordination with production teams, equipment monitoring, documentation management, and ensuring compliance with cGMP and engineering standards.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and maintain SOPs and maintenance-related documentation for plant equipment and utilities.
  • Conduct routine preventive and breakdown maintenance activities for pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.
  • Implement and monitor Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules effectively.
  • Coordinate with production departments to ensure timely maintenance execution with minimal operational disruption.
  • Supervise technicians and allocate maintenance tasks for routine and emergency breakdown activities.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify abnormalities or maintenance requirements proactively.
  • Coordinate with interdepartmental teams for troubleshooting and resolution of equipment-related issues.
  • Support execution and implementation of CAPEX projects related to process equipment and plant engineering.
  • Ensure timely indenting and procurement follow-up for maintenance spares and engineering consumables.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, equipment history records, and engineering documentation accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP guidelines, Good Engineering Practices (GEP), and statutory regulations.
  • Monitor safety practices during maintenance and operational activities within manufacturing areas.
  • Ensure proper calibration, upkeep, and operational readiness of plant equipment.
  • Participate in equipment qualification, validation, and commissioning activities when required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with QA, Production, Engineering, and Purchase departments for maintenance-related activities.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, safety procedures, and engineering standards during all maintenance operations.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for equipment failures.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities related to engineering and maintenance.
