Microbiologist

The Microbiologist will be responsible forentifying and studying microorganisms, performing culture and sensitivity testing, and ensuring precise reporting of microbiological findings. This requires strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and adherence to laboratory quality and safety protocols.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform microbiological testing including culture, staining,entification, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
• Analyze clinical, environmental, and industrial samples to detect bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.
• Interpret microbiology results and prepare accurate, timely reports.
• Ensure proper sample collection, handling, processing, and storage as per protocols.
• Maintain strict adherence to quality standards (NABL/ISO) and laboratory SOPs.
• Oversee sterilization, contamination control, and aseptic laboratory practices.
• Monitor and validate culture media, reagents, and testing procedures.
• Investigate abnormal or critical results and provide expert insights.
• Ensure compliance with biosafety and infection control guidelines.
• Supervise laboratory technicians and support staff in microbiology processes.
• Participate in internal and external quality assurance (QA/QC) programs.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment in coordination with technical teams.
• Document test results, observations, and maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals for diagnostic accuracy.
• Support research, development, and validation of new microbiological methods.
• Ensure timely reporting of urgent and critical test results.
• Monitor antimicrobial resistance patterns and maintain related data.
