Technician - Orthopaedics

The Ortho Technician will support orthopedic patient care, plaster application, splinting, traction assistance, fracture support, OT and OPD coordination, patient shifting, and orthopedic procedure assistance at Shalby Hospitals, Indore. This requires Diploma qualification with 2–3 years of experience in orthopaedic technician duties or hospital orthopedic support services.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthopedic doctors during OPD, emergency, ward, and procedure-based patient care.
• Support plaster application, splinting, casting, bandaging, and traction-related activities.
• Prepare orthopedic instruments, materials, plaster rolls, splints, and procedure supplies.
• Assist in fracture care, dressing support, minor procedures, and immobilization techniques.
• Coordinate patient shifting for X-ray, OT, ward, emergency, and physiotherapy services.
• Maintain orthopedic procedure records, material usage details, and department documentation.
• Follow infection control, patient safety, PPE, and biomedical waste guidelines.
• Support post-operative orthopedic care under doctor and nursing guidance.
• Check availability of orthopedic consumables and report shortages to seniors.
• Help patients understand basic movement restrictions and safety precautions.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, OT, physiotherapy, radiology, and billing teams.
• Ensure smooth, safe, and patient-friendly orthopedic technical support.
