Consultant - Gastroenterology

Consultant - Gastroenterology is responsible for providing specialized gastroenterology consultation, managing OPD/IPD patients, performing or guiding gastro procedures, and delivering evidence-based treatment for digestive and liver disorders. The requires DM or DNB Gastroenterology qualification with 0 to 2 years of experience. Candidates should be skilled in gastroenterology care, consulting, clinical decision-making, and patient management.

Role & Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat gastroenterology and liver-related conditions.
• Conduct OPD consultations and provide specialized treatment plans.
• Manage admitted gastroenterology patients and coordinate care.
• Perform or supervise endoscopy and related gastro procedures.
• Review lab reports, imaging, and diagnostic findings.
• Coordinate with surgical, medical, radiology, and pathology teams.
• Provide emergency support for acute gastrointestinal conditions.
• Counsel patients regarding treatment, procedure, diet, and follow-up.
• Maintain accurate medical records and procedure documentation.
• Follow evidence-based clinical protocols and hospital standards.
• Support patient safety and infection control compliance.
• Participate in case discussions and clinical decision-making.
• Guide junior doctors and clinical teams when required.
• Support quality documentation and audit requirements.
• Deliver specialized, ethical, and patient-focused gastroenterology care.
