Hospital Worker Patient Shifting

The Hospital Worker, Patient Shifting will support patient movement, wheelchair and stretcher assistance, material movement, ward support, basic patient assistance, and general hospital support services at Velammal Group Institutions, Madurai. This requires 10th or 12th standard qualification with 1–2 years of hospital support experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with wheelchair, stretcher, and bed-to-bed shifting.
• Support patient movement between wards, OPD, ICU, OT, diagnostics, and emergency areas.
• Help nursing and patient care teams during admission, discharge, and transfer activities.
• Guide patients and visitors to departments, billing, pharmacy, laboratory, and waiting areas.
• Support material movement, document delivery, and basic hospital errands as assigned.
• Maintain polite and respectful communication with patients, relatives, and staff.
• Follow infection control, hand hygiene, PPE, and hospital safety guidelines.
• Report patient discomfort, safety issues, spills, or operational concerns to seniors promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
• Ensure safe, helpful, and patient-friendly support service delivery.
