Emergency Medical Officer

The Emergency Medical Officer will be responsible for handling emergency and trauma cases, performing rapid patient assessment, and delivering life-saving interventions. The requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to work under pressure, and effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide immediate medical care to patients in emergency and trauma situations.
• Perform rapid assessment, triage, and stabilization of patients.
• Diagnose and manage acute medical and surgical emergencies.
• Administer emergency treatments, medications, and life-saving interventions.
• Handle critical cases such as cardiac arrest, trauma, stroke, and respiratory distress.
• Perform procedures such as intubation, suturing, IV access, and basic life support.
• Coordinate with specialists and departments for advanced care and referrals.
• Monitor patient condition continuously and update treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records and emergency documentation.
• Participate in Code Blue and emergency response teams.
• Ensure adherence to emergency protocols, SOPs, and patient safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families during emergencies.
• Assist in medico-legal cases and ensure proper documentation.
• Coordinate patient transfer to ICU, OT, or other departments as required.
• Ensure availability and readiness of emergency equipment and medications.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols strictly.
• Participate in emergency drills, training, and continuous learning programs.
• Maintain professionalism, ethics, and patient confidentiality.
• Work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by hospital management.
