SR/Attending Consultant - Obstetrics & Gynaecology

The SR / Attending Consultant – Obstetrics & Gynaecology will be responsible for diagnosing and treating conditions related to women’s reproductive health, managing pregnancies, and performing gynecological procedures. The requires strong clinical expertise, surgical skills, and the ability to handle both routine and high-risk cases.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for obstetric and gynecological patients.
• Manage normal and high-risk pregnancies, antenatal and postnatal care.
• Conduct deliveries including normal, assisted, and cesarean sections.
• Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions such as PCOS, fibroids, and infections.
• Perform gynecological surgeries including laparoscopic and open procedures.
• Handle obstetric and gynecological emergencies effectively.
• Conduct outpatient and inpatient consultations regularly.
• Interpret diagnostic tests including ultrasound and laboratory reports.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as required.
• Provide family planning counseling and reproductive health guidance.
• Educate patients on prenatal care, postnatal care, and women’s health issues.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, anesthetists, and other specialists.
• Ensure adherence to infection control and surgical safety protocols.
• Supervise and guide junior doctors, RMOs, and nursing staff.
• Participate in clinical audits, case discussions, and quality improvement programs.
• Stay updated with advancements in obstetrics and gynecology practices.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, SOPs, and ethical standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by hospital management.
