Lab Technician

The Lab Technician will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing patient samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. Roles & Responsibilities

• Collect, label, and process patient samples such as blood, urine, and other specimens.
• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and analyzers.
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results through proper procedures.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control protocols.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of laboratory results.
• Adhere to turnaround time (TAT) for reporting.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of samples, reagents, and chemicals.
• Conduct regular calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory area.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines strictly.
• Dispose of biomedical waste as per hospital protocols.
• Coordinate with doctors and departments for test requirements and reporting.
• entify and report abnormal or critical results to medical staff promptly.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory consumables and ensure availability.
• Participate in audits, accreditation processes, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with NABH/NABL standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Handle emergency and urgent testing requirements efficiently.
• Stay updated with latest laboratory techniques and advancements.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the laboratory in-charge or management.
