Physiotherapist cum Lactation Counsellor

The Physiotherapist cum Lactation Counsellor will be responsible for providing physiotherapy support, maternal recovery guidance, breastfeeding counselling, postnatal education, and patient rehabilitation services. This requires BPT or MPT qualification, strong patient counselling skills, womens health awareness, and coordination with gynecology, pediatric, nursing, and maternity teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients requiring physiotherapy and rehabilitation support.
• Provide physiotherapy treatment for pain relief, mobility, posture, and recovery.
• Counsel mothers on breastfeeding techniques, latch position, and feeding frequency.
• Guide postnatal mothers on exercises, posture, back care, and recovery.
• Support lactation problem management such as poor latch, engorgement, and feeding difficulty.
• Coordinate with gynecologists, pediatricians, nurses, and maternity staff.
• Educate patients and families on home exercises and baby feeding support.
• Maintain treatment records, counselling notes, and follow-up documentation.
• Support antenatal and postnatal education sessions when required.
• Monitor patient progress and modify therapy plans as needed.
• Maintain patient privacy, comfort, and emotional support during counselling.
• Deliver compassionate and evidence-based physiotherapy and lactation care.
