Job Description
Rheumatologist Professional is responsible for diagnosing and managing systemic autoimmune and inflammatory disorders with ocular involvement. The involves evaluating rheumatologic diseases affecting eye health, providing inpatient and outpatient consultations, prescribing immunosuppressive and biologic therapies, and collaborating closely with ophthalmologists for comprehensive patient care.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and manage rheumatologic and autoimmune disorders with ocular manifestations.
- Evaluate systemic inflammatory diseases affecting ocular health and overall patient condition.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists in managing uveitis, scleritis, and connective tissue diseases.
- Provide OPD and IPD consultations for rheumatology patients.
- Prescribe and monitor immunosuppressive and biologic therapies as per clinical guidelines.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.
- Monitor disease progression and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate medical records, treatment notes, and clinical documentation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Educate patients regarding disease management, medication adherence, and long-term care.
- Counsel patients and families on chronic disease management and treatment expectations.
- Coordinate with laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic departments for patient evaluation.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement programs, and academic activities.
- Stay updated with advancements in rheumatology, immunology, and biologic therapies.
- Perform additional clinical and specialist responsibilities assigned by management or senior consultants.
