Technologist - Cardiology Job in Chennai at Apollo Hospitals

Job Description

Technologist - Cardiology is responsible for assisting cardiologists in performing diagnostic and non-invasive cardiac procedures, operating cardiology equipment, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring accurate cardiac diagnostic services. The involves conducting ECGs, stress tests, echocardiography assistance, patient preparation, and maintaining cardiology records while ensuring patient safety and comfort.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and cardiac evaluation procedures.
  • Perform ECG, TMT, Holter monitoring, and other non-invasive cardiology investigations.
  • Prepare patients for cardiology procedures and explain the testing process clearly.
  • Operate and maintain cardiology diagnostic equipment and monitoring systems.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and cardiac activity during procedures and tests.
  • Assist during echocardiography, stress testing, and other cardiac diagnostic procedures.
  • Ensure accurate recording and documentation of cardiac test results and patient information.
  • Identify abnormal readings or patient discomfort and report concerns immediately to the medical team.
  • Maintain cleanliness, readiness, and proper functioning of cardiology equipment and procedure rooms.
  • Follow infection control practices, safety standards, and hospital protocols at all times.
  • Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff for smooth patient workflow.
  • Ensure timely scheduling and completion of cardiology diagnostic procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and diagnostic reports.
  • Support emergency cardiac care and assist during urgent cardiac interventions when required.
  • Conduct routine quality checks and basic troubleshooting of cardiology equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of cardiology consumables and report shortages when necessary.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated with advancements in cardiology technology and diagnostic procedures.
  • Provide compassionate care and reassurance to patients during procedures.
  • Perform additional cardiology technology and patient care responsibilities assigned by supervisors or management.
