Job Description

Dedicated Physician Assistant – CTVS responsible for supporting cardiothoracic and vascular surgical teams in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care. Skilled in clinical assessment, surgical assistance, patient monitoring, and critical care management. Adept at coordinating with surgeons, ICU teams, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes, efficient surgical workflow, and adherence to clinical protocols and hospital standards in high-acuity surgical environments.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons during surgical procedures and operations.
  • Conduct pre-operative patient assessments, history taking, and clinical examinations.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and ensure all pre-operative protocols are followed.
  • Assist in post-operative care, monitoring, and recovery management in ICU and wards.
  • Monitor vital signs and detect early signs of complications in surgical patients.
  • Assist in wound care, dressing changes, and post-surgical follow-up procedures.
  • Coordinate with ICU, anesthesia, and nursing teams for seamless patient care delivery.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, surgical notes, and clinical documentation.
  • Support emergency management of critically ill cardiothoracic and vascular patients.
  • Assist in diagnostic procedures and interpretation of relevant clinical investigations.
  • Ensure adherence to surgical protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards.
  • Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and recovery care.
  • Support surgical instrumentation preparation and operating room readiness.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and research activities.
