Oncology Nurse

Fortis Healthcare Limited is seeking a compassionate and skilled Oncology Nurse to provide specialized nursing care to cancer patients across various stages of treatment. The involves administering chemotherapy, monitoring patient responses, and offering emotional and clinical support while ensuring adherence to safety and oncology care protocols.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients in OPD, IPD, and daycare settings.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive medications as per protocols.
• Monitor patients for treatment-related side effects and adverse reactions.
• Ensure safe handling, preparation, and disposal of cytotoxic drugs.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety guidelines.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, side effects, and home care.
• Assist oncologists during procedures and treatment administration.
• Monitor vital signs and clinical condition before, during, and after therapy.
• Manage IV lines, central lines, and infusion pumps effectively.
• Provide pain management and palliative care support when required.
• Maintain accurate and detailed nursing documentation and treatment records.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
• Provide psychological and emotional support to patients and caregivers.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and oncology protocols.
• Participate in patient counseling sessions and survivorship programs.
• Assist in managing oncology emergencies such as febrile neutropenia.
• Ensure proper stock and handling of oncology drugs and consumables.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, and safety initiatives.
• Stay updated with advancements in oncology nursing practices.
