Nursing Superintendent

The Nursing Superintendent will be responsible for overall nursing administration, patient care quality, nursing staff management, duty planning, clinical compliance, infection control, and nursing service improvement at Preethi Hospitals, Madurai. This requires B.Sc Nursing or GNM qualification with minimum 15 years of nursing experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise nursing services across all clinical departments.
• Monitor patient care quality, medication safety, documentation, and nursing standards.
• Plan nursing manpower, duty rosters, shift allocation, and department coverage.
• Guide nursing supervisors, senior nurses, and staff nurses in daily operations.
• Coordinate with doctors, administration, HR, pharmacy, laboratory, ICU, OT, and support teams.
• Ensure infection control, biomedical waste, PPE, patient safety, and emergency readiness compliance.
• Review nursing documentation, incident reports, handover records, and audit findings.
• Handle patient or attendant concerns related to nursing services professionally.
• Support nursing training, competency assessment, and staff performance improvement.
• Implement nursing SOPs, quality indicators, and hospital service protocols.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality meetings, and management reviews.
• Ensure disciplined, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care delivery.
